How to Enjoy Ginza Nana Alley
Australia’s First Yokocho
Ginza Nana Alley is a collection of independent Japanese eateries, all gathered in one yokocho-style space.
Each venue has its own kitchen, menu, and atmosphere, and is meant to be enjoyed as its own restaurant — not as a food court.
Choose the venue that suits your mood, sit down, order from that shop, and enjoy the experience there.
If you feel like exploring more, you’re welcome to visit another venue afterwards
and enjoy a completely different style of Japanese food and hospitality.
Most venues welcome walk-ins.
Ginza Midai also welcomes walk-ins, with reservations recommended for a more relaxed experience.
Whether you spend your time at one venue or visit several during your stay, Ginza Nana Alley invites you to enjoy each restaurant with care, curiosity, and respect.
• Each venue is an independent restaurant
• Please order and dine with the venue you choose
• Enjoy each space as its own dining experience
• Walk-ins welcome at all venues
• Reservations recommended for Ginza Midai
Monkey & Bird
(Tue: Cafe all day / Sun: Closed 5pm)
Monkey & Bird is a small, Showa-retro–inspired spot that shifts from a café during the day to a bar at night.
By day, enjoy quality coffee — including espresso —
alongside matcha drinks, Japanese-style lattes, and nostalgic café sweets.
By night, the space becomes a relaxed bar offering a thoughtfully curated drinks menu, with a strong focus on Japanese whisky, alongside other classic and modern pours.
Its signature Showa-style desserts remain available into the evening.
Whether you stop by for coffee, matcha, dessert, or a late-night drink,
Monkey & Bird offers a quiet charming take on Japanese café and bar culture.

Tonkatsu sits at the heart of the menu, alongside other yoshoku classics that have evolved into a true part of Japan’s food culture.
Come in for a proper, satisfying meal, from crispy tonkatsu to comforting set plates and familiar favourites.
Open through lunch and afternoon until 5pm.

— one of Japan’s many regional ramen styles.
This style is known for its light soy-based broth, layered with depth and richness from pork back fat.
Familiar, comforting, and easy to enjoy, it’s a type of ramen people in Japan eat every day, at any time.
Rarely found outside Japan, this is the only place in Australia where you can experience Onomichi-style ramen.

Yakitori Washokudo is a casual yakitori counter filled with the aroma of charcoal.
Skewers are grilled over binchotan charcoal right in front of you, so you can enjoy the sound, heat, and smell as much as the food itself.
Sit at the counter, order a few skewers, have a drink, and enjoy the simple pleasure of freshly grilled yakitori.
Perfect for a quick stop or a relaxed evening, this is an easygoing spot that feels just like a local yakitori place in Japan.
• Charcoal-grilled yakitori

About Us
Ginza Nana Alley was created to bring the warmth, energy, and everyday dining culture of Japanese yokocho to Perth.
In Japan, yokocho are places where people naturally gather — to eat, drink, talk, and spend time together.
They are not about formality or rushing, but about connection, atmosphere, and shared moments.
At Ginza Nana Alley, each venue operates as its own independent restaurant,
with its own personality, food, and style of hospitality.
Together, they form a space that feels lively, welcoming, and a little different every time you visit.
This project was created by Tsukumo Group, with a simple idea in mind:
to let people experience Japanese food culture in everyday life, while feeling the warmth and human touch behind it.
Whether it’s your first visit or one of many, we hope Ginza Nana Alley is a place where you can slow down, feel comfortable, and enjoy being exactly where you are.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
